SURFAROLL® is a non-corrosive liquid surfactant produced with natural wetting agents derived
from plant extract. When used for rolling grain prior to the steam process, it allows moisture to
penetrate the outer protective layer of the grain kernel, softening the internal starch of the grains.
Due to its surfactant activity, it reduces the surface tension of the water and increases the rate of
absorption of moisture by the grain, thus, reducing the energy required for the rolling process.
Another application that this product has is in molasses. It decreases viscosity improving homogeneous
dispersion over feed. In the finished product when it is packed in sacks, it prevents feed from “caking”
(anti-caking effect), improving the shelf life of the products in its packaging. It eases the cleaning
of the mixer, as it prevents the mixture from sticking to the machinery.
