The fundamental active ingredients within our products are saponins and glycocomponents.
Saponins have high tensoactive properties and as such, they play an important role in animal nutrition. The saponins’ powerful surfactant property increase the permeability of the cell membrane of the intestinal wall and allows a better absorption of nutrients, in addition to accelerating the microbial activity of the normal intestinal flora, improving digestion and the utilization of feed.
Glycocomponents are highly thermo stable molecular structures, which have an affinity for and the ability to bind ammonia molecules within the digestive tract and metabolic process, neutralizing its toxic and harmful effects. These compounds convert free ammonia by a physical and not a chemical process, into a non-toxic nitrogenous compound, thus improving environmental conditions allowing the normal flora to increase its activity to degrade organic material within the intestines, resulting in a more complete and efficient digestion.
Consequently, these effects reduce the emission of ammonia, hydrogen sulfide and other toxic gases, which are produced in the degradation process of animal waste, into the environment. Saponins are glycosides that occur naturally in the Yucca schidigera plant. Its name is derived precisely from the Latin word “sapo” meaning soap describing its ability to form stable foam similar to soap in aqueous solutions. This characteristic is easily observable, and has been the original interest for Yucca schidigera since ancient times.

Ammonia is a highly toxic, irritant, colorless soluble gas that naturally occurs in the metabolic process of digestion. It is also a causative agent of damage in the mucosa of the respiratory and ocular systems of animals. A harmful secondary effect of ammonia is carried out when the ammonia enters the circulatory system of animals, causing damage within pulmonary membranes possibly causing animal mortality.
Glycocomponents have the ability to bind ammonia molecules in the intestinal tract, neutralizing the harmful effects of ammonia and converting it into a non-toxic nitrogenous compound. The mechanism is relatively simple, first of all, cholesterol and saponins form a bond within the membrane, thereby, forming a trans-membranal pore.
