There are actually more and more industrial, agricultural and livestock companies which utilize Yucca schidigera
extract in any of its forms; this is why more than 23 years ago we began research work focused on the domestication and
reproduction of the Yucca schidigera plant species, so we now have the only commercial plantation of Yucca schidigera
that exists in Mexico and in the world.
Between 1995 and 1999 test plantations were planted on 8 hectares. In 2000, nurseries were established to produce seedlings and in 2003 we planted the first 50 hectares which were under a management plan that included the establishment of 600 hectares. In 2004 an additional 100 hectares were planted to bring the total to 150 hectares, and between 2005 y 2018 we established 350 hectares to reach a total of 500 hectares.
This important project was awarded an Honorary Mention of the National Forestry Award granted by the Mexican
National Forestry Commission in 2007 and in 2008 we were awarded the national award by the National Forestry
Commission. The award was issued personally by Lic. Felipe Calderon, the President of Mexico.
